“Madrid genes”.. Casemiro’s behavior after the Carabao Cup final impresses Roy Keane

Roy Keane was happy to see Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes fall out after Manchester United’s Carabao Cup victory, as he felt it “means they care”.

Erik ten Hag’s side beat Newcastle at Wembley on Sunday after first-half goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford, but that didn’t stop the five-time Champions League winner from Brazil calling up one of his team-mates for a reprimand.

Bruno Fernandes had a good chance to make it 3-0 in the dying moments, but his shot was saved by Loris Karius.

The 28-year-old had options on either side when he hit the ball, including a well-placed Jadon Sancho, which Casemiro pointed to angrily after the final whistle. The Brazilian star, who has the genes of Real Madrid, did not care about the end of the match and the celebrations, and went to discuss Bruno sharply.

For Roy Keane, this incident showed that Manchester United are in a good position, as he told Sky Sports: “I love what Casemiro did with Bruno Fernandes, whatever they argue about, it means they care.”

Their argument didn’t seem to last long, as smiles broke out from both players before they lifted Manchester United’s first trophy in six years.

Winger Jadon Sancho also took time out from the post-match celebrations to mock Fernandes as the team celebrated with the Man United fans inside Wembley.

The 22-year-old posed with a Sky Sports selfie camera among his United team-mates and caught Fernandes to offer him some advice.

“Next time you pass by,” Sancho joked sarcastically. A smiling Fernandez mocked the criticism and replied, “Next time, next time.”
